Amitabh’s daughter Shweta is married to industrialist Nikhil Nanda, who is the son of Ritu Nanda – daughter of Raj Kapoor and Krishna Raj Kapoor. So the Bachchans and the Kapoors – the two biggest families in Bollywood – are actually related!

Sidharth Malhotra

Director Sidharth Malhotra of ‘We Are Family’ fame is the grandson of actor Prem Nath. We’re pretty sure only a few people knew that!

Ranveer Singh

Actor Ranveer Singh, who is rumoured to be a Deepika Padukone’s flame, is Sonam Kapoor’s maternal cousin.

Simi Garewal

Simi Garewal is the first cousin of Yash Chopra’s wife Pamela. Simi’s mother Darshi and Pamela’s father Mohinder Singh were siblings. Interestingly, it was Simi who had introduced Pamela to Yash at a wedding!

This Aamir Khan starrer broke records all over the world. With a budget of 1.5 billion INR, this mega movie recovered more than it could have asked for. It collected over 5.3 billion INR worldwide. This film beat the record set by ‘Chennai Express’.

‘Chennai Express’

This Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer is an action-comedy film directed by Rohit Shetty and produced by Gauri Khan under the banner Red Chillies Entertainment. With a comparatively meagre budget of 250 million INR, this movie reached new heights by grossing at 3.2 billion INR. Quite a turnover!

‘Krrish 3′

A budget of only 150 million INR turned out to be quite a steal when the results of its grossing came out. ‘Krrish 3′ earned a whopping 3.1 billion INR. The film is produced and directed by Rakesh Roshan and it stars Hrithik Roshan, Vivek Oberoi, Priyanka Chopra, and Kangana Ranaut.

‘3 Idiots’

Until 2013, ‘3 Idiots’ was the largest grossing Bollywood film worldwide. A budget of only 35 crores, this movie arrived with a mega return on investment with an enormous 392 crores!

‘Ek Tha Tiger’

The budget of this film was 75 crores INR and it grossed around 310 crore INR worldwide. This Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer was directed by Kabir Khan and produced by Aditya Chopra of Yash Raj Films.

Mega money is an understatement for these Bollywood blockbuster incomes. Were they worth it? You bet!

Akshay Kumar

This top notch action star has been making the mega bucks since the last few years. Since he has a background in Taekwondo, Akshay performs his own stunts for his movies and charges anything between 18-30 crores per movie, while around 5 crores for his commercials.

Hrithik Roshan

Hrithik has shown his tremendous potential by acting and dancing his way to superstardom. He charges around 25 crore per movie he appears and around 5 crore for endorsements!

Bollywood celebrities who changed their names

Bollywood celebrities have changed their names for various reasons. Numerology, superstition and sometimes just for a better name, celebrities have changed a letter or more in their names. Let us look at a few.

Katrina Kaif

Kat’s surname was Turquotte. After Jackie Shroff’s wife advised Katrina to change her surname in the early days of her career, the long legged beauty did as suggested. The logic behind the change was to let people pronounce her full name without any difficulty.

Mallika Sherawat

Salman Khan

When you have to describe Salman, a word like brash will be close on your mind. Salman first got into controversy in 1998 by hunting an endangered Chinkara, following which he was arrested, but later released on bail. But he continued to play with fire when he drove his car over a footpath where some homeless people were sleeping. This left one dead and three injured and he was charged with a hit and run case.

Saif Ali Khan

Saif Ali Khan is another star who swam in the danger sea once too often. Coming from a royal background, he was bound to get away with things but he faced quite a lot of trouble somehow. In the year 2012, the nawab was with his wife and friends and fell into an argument with an NRI at the Taj hotel and he allegedly brawled with the man and broke his nose. Besides this, Saif was also accused in the same Chinkara hunting case for allegedly being an accomplice of Salman in the act.

Sanjay Dutt

How can anyone forget Sanjay’s famous ‘Munnabhai’ character from the movie ‘Munnabhai M.B.B.S’! Sanjay is allegedly known to have contacts with many such ‘gundas’ like in the movie and has always been surrounded by controversies in his real life.

Shah Rukh Khan

How could we miss out on ‘King Khan’ who was found to be misbehaving with a security official while at the Wankhede stadium in 2012’s edition of IPL. He was also alleged of slapping Farah Khan’s husband Shirish Kunder at a party.

He gave a lot of efforts into developing his martial arts skill for this movie and was appreciated a lot for his performance. He trained in martial arts and parkour, and focussed on his body for around 2 years before the shoot began. Tiger did all the stunts by himself and did not need a body double.

Akshay Kumar

Khiladi Kumar has always been a supremely fit actor and has trained in Muay Thai, a martial art form of Thailand when he was in Bangkok. He does most of his stunts by himself and has been known to be the most daring action stars in Bollywood. He was awarded the highest Japanese honour of “Katana” and a sixth degree Black Belt in Kuyukai Gojuryu Karate. Akshay jumped from one elevator to another at a height of around 110 feet in an action scene for the movie ‘Singh Is Kinng’. He even carried a 350 pound wrestler named ‘Undertaker’ for the film ‘Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi’.  He has also jumped from a height of around 45 feet in the movie ‘Khiladi 786′. These are just a few of the innumerous stunts that Akshay has done in his illustrious career.

Vidyut Jamwal

Actor Vidyut Jamwal practises Kalaripayattu – a martial art form from Kerala. This includes strikes, kicks, grappling, preset forms, weaponry and healing methods. He made his Bollywood debut with ‘Force’, where he starred opposite John Abraham and Genelia D’Souza. He received a lot of praise for his performance in this action packed film and won the Filmfare Best Male Debut Award for the film. His stunts in the film ‘Commando – One Man Army’ were extremely dangerous and were done all by himself without the support of any ropes or harnesses.

Salman Khan had two bull mastiffs called Myson and Myjaan. Seven years after they passed away, the dogs have been immortalized in a plaque installed on the traffic island outside Mehboob Studio which is a stone’s throw away from the actor’s residence.

8. Ajay Devgn and Koko and Kiki

The Singham actor has two German Shepherds — Koko and Koki.
